Flatgallery is once again part of the art fair in Turin this year. This season, we’re returning with a carefully curated selection of contemporary Slovak artists.

 

This year's selection focuses primarily on abstract works, with medium and large formats, showcasing a diversity of techniques, expressive means, and materials.

Viktor Fuček captures surroundings and the transcendent in a gestural, subconscious, and automatic manner, merging with visual and tactile sensations. His works often incorporate performance, translating into dynamically elusive movement.
 

Andrea Bartošová draws inspiration from ancient motifs in her work. She retains the original mimetic function of painting, keeping the gesture visible in its original “raw” form, often approaching the edge where her images visually resemble sketches or underpaintings.
 

Jan Valík describes his paintings as territories and/or ecosystems, where random traces can lead to unexpected shifts in imagination.
